They were a dream to work with. Overseeing the build from London, with only a regular weekly onsite meeting could have been a struggle, but it all ran so smoothly. Billy, Jennie and the whole team were a genuine joy to work with and I have recommended them far and wide (including to my parents who are now using them).

Stephen Langer Architects has had extensive experience working with W A Thompson for several years and has several projects live with them. Billy and Jennie provide a great service with a very high attention to detail.

They help bring our designs into reality whilst ensuring the needs of the client are met and considered throughout the build process. They have been involved in a myriad of developments including new build residential, extensions and conversions, covering both modern, and more crucially for us a traditional practice, heritage property, completing the work to a very high standard.

We searched long and hard to find the right builder for the total internal re-modelling of our property and a loft conversion. We couldn’t be happier in the service that we received.

Billy, the owner of the business was very personable to deal with and had some great ideas, throughout the work, which helped to enhance the internal works. We used them as a one stop shop for everything and were extremely impressed with all the tradesmen they had working for them directly, the best at their trade and very polite and courteous.

We were also very impressed with the 3rd parties that they worked with e.g. electricians/decorators. We whole heartedly recommend this company for any building work and will be using them for anything we do moving forward.

They totally gutted the place and remodelled it for us. A huge job!

They managed absolutely everything from the building work, plumbing, electrics, carpentry through to the decorating and finishing.

They were fabulous.

Billy has an excellent idea in terms of what works and what doesn’t. And came to the project with lots of value adding ideas like putting vaulted ceilings in the hall. The firm’s attention to detail was second to none and they take pride in their work. There was only 1 wall in the house that didn’t need to come down, but Billy said it should come down anyway and be rebuilt (at his own cost) as it would result in a better finish.

One final thing they are also easy to get hold of. They always answer the phone!

We worked alongside Thompson on the full redesign and renovation of a 6 bedroom family house in Sussex. I used them to modernise an old 4-bedroom house. From start to finish they were a joy to work with. They helped with the planning, the layout of the house – coming up with some innovative ideas; sourcing of all materials for the bathrooms and kitchen; etc. The quality and finish of the work was superb. House extensions are a stressful task and more so if you have a young family who are going to live in the same house all through the construction phase. This is patently true unless you happen to be one of the lucky few who end up getting the services of a builder like Billy!

Contrary to my apprehensions, Billy and his team worked like clockwork and provided us with a high-quality product with minimal fuss during the entire period of 4 months.
